Well, it's been several years since we've had any news postings. There's not too much going on, really. Our server is still up and running. EQMac is still available as a free download. We even have occasional appearances from real Sony GMs!
The EQMac community continues to add new players, and our guilds are all making progress at our own relaxed rates. We still don't have any expansions beyond the Planes of Power, but you know, we're perfectly ok with that.

Happy 2006 everyone!
With the change in the calendar page comes a number of changes to our favorite Everquest Mac site. The biggest is a new (hopefully more reliable) billing method, which will prevent outages like those we had in October and late December.
I also have a couple of "little" projects I am working on, that I think you all may like, but you'll just have to wait and see until they're done. :evilgrin:

SOE has finally published the webportal for Free 15 day EQ Mac keys and Free game download. No longer will you have to scour the nearest Fryes, CompUSA or software retailer for your copy of EQ Mac. Nor will you have to email a contact at SOE and wait for a key to be emailed to you. Spread the word, tell your friends, post it on your favorite Macintosh site. Simply point them here, or give them the following link:

Apologies for the recent downtime here at EQMac.com. Due to fraudulent charges, the credit card used for normal billing here had to be cancelled and reissued. In that interim time, HE.net suspended the account, due to the card they had on file declining the charges. Please accept my apologies for the interruptions on your favorite site on the net. and now....... back to your regularly scheduled forums!

Hobart just announced that Al'Kabor will be brought down today for a quick update. No game changes, just backend billing updates. If you are experiencing difficulty logging in, Al'Kabor might still be down for the update. Hobart estimated 1 hour downtime, but could be more or less.

Thanks to the hard work of our dedicated Hobart, Al'Kabor has received a server update !
Heres just a few of the things fixed:
Reverted some spells that were broken last spell update. They include Alter Plane Hate, Sacrifice, Illusion Scaled Wolf, and some others.
- Added group exp modifiers. A bonus percentage of 20, 40, 60, 80, and 80 will be added for groups of 2 or more. The percentage bonus for a group of 6 is the same as a group of 5.
- Added a general 20 percent bonus modifier for all exp gained.
- Names and guild names above characters heads should look better.
- The Story dwarf in PoK should give out AA's for completing flags.
- I Also reverted some of the other spells that were reported to be having issues in hopes that they are now fixed.

Thanks to the diligence and knowledge of phpBB, our own J4E has been able to get our forums back up and running!! He worked hard and long on the updates to the phpBB and managed to keep just about everything intact. YEA J4E !!!
Now a few of the previous MODS are broken or missing and will be installed or updated again over the next week. Namely the Ignore MOD, Banner MOD and Avatar limit MOD. The EQMac store mod is still working however.
For those of you that frequent WoW4Mac.com - Its a bit more of an issue, but hopefully will be back up in the next few days. I could bring it up now, but would have to start over from scratch and loose everything, including the posts and guides. So please be patient and bear with me a bit more.
