Summary Description

The Cleric is the most powerful healer in all of Norrath. No other class can heal a group as quickly and efficiently as a Cleric. A Cleric can also enhance group members with spells that greatly increase their hitpoints and armor. A Cleric also has a series of spells to aid him in battle against the undead. Finally, a Cleric can resurrect comrades who have fallen in battle, and allow them to regain a great deal of the experience they may have lost. A Cleric can wield blunt weapons in battle.

Strengths

A Cleric's primary strength is his healing spells. With the most powerful and efficient spells in the game, a Cleric can keep up with any damage that an enemy may cause. While a Paladin also shares the Cleric's resurrection abilities, the Cleric can resurrect at lower levels, and for a greater return of experience. Everyone wants to be friends with a Cleric.

Weaknesses

Even though a Cleric wears platemail and can equip powerful blunt weapons, he cannot survive long in direct battle. A Cleric's damage spells are adequate, and even powerful against undead, but they don't come near to approaching the damage output of other classes. A Cleric is one of only two casting classes in the game without an invisibility spell, making travel and exploration more difficult.

Group Role

In a group, your main job will be to keep your group members alive. You will have to decide whether to use your slow and powerful healing spells, or your quick but weaker ones. Healing your friends can make your enemies turn on you, so you'll need to plan carefully when and how you'll apply your healing talents.
