It seems to me like you are the one in denial since you expected the server to be something other than what SOE created. It was a progression server not a classic server. You should direct your anger at them for not tailoring their product to your expections & not to the player or group of players for experiencing the server as it was laid out for them by the developers.

I already stated that SOE dropped the ball with that. But my statement was more to those that think "it had no effect on the server" when it did. That has nothing to do with me, that is just a plain simple fact that some choose to ignore. Doesnt matter now, the server is history.

Ascendancy has stated a few things. Unless they prove themselves false, I think we should take them at face value. They have stated:

1. They have no intention to wake the Sleeper unless it is decided as a server to do that, and then it will be a server event.

2. They have no intention of griefing other guilds.

We've seen cases of a guild who monopolized a particular spawn over a period of time. We've also seen that when approached, that guild happily entered into a sharing agreement. Until proven otherwise, I chose to believe that Ascendancy will show the same level of grace. I also chose to believe they won't start races on contested content.

They've done nothing on this server to suggest we'd see anything other than honorable behavior.

A big yawn to 'waking' the sleeper. After a good portion of the playerbase is time geared (this is in 2011 I guess). The server should kill the sleeper.

Let's face it - Sleeper is the toughest mob in the game and (and I think Utdaan?? mentioned this or maybe Cromis) is the version with the tougher regen rate. The one Sleepr that was killed had the lower regen.

Thank you for the kind words, Sinnder. While I have technically only been online for one evening whilst guilded with Ascendancy due to RL circumstances keeping me mostly offline, I know a lot of the people and I cannot wait until I am back in full force and able to properly play the game with them!

Aww thanks Gator. Out of town right now for the little guy, he had surgery a week ago. Hospital-bound until he's better and we can go home, likely at the beginning of June. I have one of the MacMini's at my uncle's hooked up to the tv, but it's hard to play like that.

I notice Ascendancy isn't yet listed in the Guild Contact thread. Have you contacted Nikolai with your officer info and website yet?

An aside to Ellae - best wishes to the little one for a speedy recovery and return to home base.

They gave me basic info (name and guild officers), but I was hoping for a bit more (like guild number, website, and a brief description). I can go ahead and post what I have, tho.

The Sleeper was only killed because a patch bug (and the people on RZ knew about it), disabled his regen (and all other NPC's) completely. He is un-killable with it working.

I too was on The Combine, and quit a bit after Kunark was unlocked, along with the rest of my guild who had made alts there (Snowmen!). The server was botched - 95% of the players on it wanted to experience a slow classic EQ roll-out, and what it really needed was 6 month locks and instanced raid content for all expansions.

It sounds like the people in Ascendancy are a good group, so have fun!

We've made a few changes to our raid schedule, as I over estimated the population of this server. I talked to Karpan (Guildleader of Dark Conquest) and we have agreed to joint raiding. We will continue to do our own raids as our numbers grow, but attending those raids will not be mandatory. These raids will be smaller targets and epic fights that require more than the average group. If you have any questions feel free to visit www.Ascendancyguild.org or ask Senni, Elucid or Lidden in game.
