Hi guys.

Was using the old client for my trader since it seems new client always "forgot" how i priced my stuff. Deleted old client, and now wondering of that trader issue has been fixed on new one or if there is a workaround?

Thanks

It seems to reset your prices to zero when you log out. Log in your trader and start trader mode, then log out and edit the file manually, either lock it from changes using chmod or make a copy that you can drop in each time before you log your traders in.

Seems cumbersome to say the least, but at least trader will be up again!

Thanks

I have my theories about this, but I haven't cared enough to really test it out.

Do you box?

I think if you log your mule in, then log in another char, then update your prices on the mule, then log him out, it won't save properly because your boxed character is logged in.

Perhaps if you try with ONLY the mule logged in, and then see what happens. Or perhaps that is what you are already doing.

Hobart told me a while ago that he has the fix for this issue, but hasn't pushed it through because he has other pressing issues that need addressing.

Yeah, I don't bother putting up a trader, because of this. The last thing I want to do at the end of my playing session, when I'm logging off to sleep, or whatever, is take an extra 10 minutes updating prices...

Awaiting a fix! :)

Any updates on this issue?
Looks like prices are still getting reset.

I have fixed prices in BZR*ini file, started trader and items for sale looked ok.
Then I switched to desktop, looked at ini file and they were reset to 0 again.

I think Utdaan is on the right track, I used to use the Notes window a lot but now it's pretty much useless as other accounts overwrite notes I make on my main. Should be fairly easy to test different login combos to see if one will stick but I haven't got round to it myself.

Seems like Hobart hasn't had any time for us lately :(

I am not sure that multiple accounts are the culprit here - I only have one account and it still happens to me.

Ok, I think I may have found a sequence which can make prices 'stick':

1. Open trader, set the prices, close it (can just Escape, don't need to do "End Trader")
2. Open trader again. At this point prices are set in BZR*INI file, but will *not* show in the game window yet.
3. Close and open trader once again.

Now the prices you've set should show up in trader window.
I will still need to see if this fixes prices permanently or they still go 'poof' after a while :)
They did survive /camp though.

Looking at BZR*INI timestamp, it appears that EQ writes this file when you open trader
(not when you close it, which would make more sense).
Until then, changes probably sit in memory and could disappear when you switch chars or camp.

Try it and let me know what you think!
