Hey guys, new player Tewaz, level 10 bard looking for a guild. I am interested in making many different characters and raiding a lot of the content I missed out on back in the day. Hit me up in game.

Guild summaries:

-Temerity: most advanced raid guild on the server (by far). Currently working their way through Plane of Time. Raid several evenings a week. Some excellent people here. The place to be if you want the best loot, but you may need to wait until level 55 to join.

-Destiny: next most advanced guild, progression-wise. Considered the international guild with significant members in every timezone group, although about half the guild is North America. Just starting to poke noses into Tower of Solusek Ro and doing a ton of back flagging. Raids Saturdays noon Eastern and Thursdays 3 Eastern, plus other times more ad hoc.

-Spirit of Yamoto: Small Japanese guild. Guildspeak is in Japanese. Raids with Destiny.

-Dark Conquest: hosts open raids I believe a few times a week. Currently working on PoP progression, several significant kills behind Destiny but well in front of the remaining guilds. You'll have to talk to them for more info.

The above guilds are the only guilds currently killing in Vex Thal, which is considered a requirement on this server for PoP progression. I believe, however, you could join one of the guilds below and still visit Vex Thal during DC open raids. Except for the progression guilds, of course.

-Pathfinders and Sanctuary: some light raiding, smaller family-style guilds. Some nice people in both guilds.

-Vintage: Progression guild, currently killing in either Velious or Luclin, I'm not sure which. They've done some amazing things killing the top content of the previous expansions using only gear, spells, and levels available during that era. We haven't heard much on these boards from them lately, so unsure how they're doing. They were really rocking for a while, so I hope that has continued.

-The Resistance: Newest guild in this list. Came over from Project 1999 a few months ago. There was quite a bit of drama when they first came over, but that settled down. You'll need to talk to them for more info.

The basic advice for folks: see whose raid schedule agrees with yours. Talk to a few people, see who you like. If you get a chance, see if you can group with some of the guild members and decide how you feel about them.

It's considered poor form to guild hop. There's some movement between guilds, but I suggest you try to pick the right guild from the beginning, as best you can.

Like Sinnder said, chat swith some folks in each of the guilds and see which of them fits your play times and style. The nice thing is, you really can't pick wrong - every guild on the server has got some really nice folks in it - so just make sure its a guild that fits your schedule best.

Velious currently :) TY for the kind words. Definitely still going strong! 3/4 in Sleepers recently. Well 4/4 would be bad heh.

I agree, you can't really go wrong. And everyone works well together, like just last week almost every guild on the server had a few people at Thesit's ring war.

Its worth noting that if you want a progression guild vintage and TR has some significant differences in how they approach progression - but either is an excellent choice. And I thought Pathfinders raided VT - maybe I'm wrong.

Pathfinders don't raid Vex Thal as a guild. A few Pathfinder members (ie Fanglore) raid Vex Thal when it is DC's rotation.

One thing of note that is quite unique to our server is that the top guild on the server - Temerity - don't have any strict entry requirements. They require level 55 but that's it and they have a channel you can join if you're lower level but interested in joining when you level up. They have many helpful members that will likely help you level up as fast or faster than you could in any other guild. No guilds on the server are exclusionist either so you can easliy group with members of other guilds while leveling without being a member of those guilds.

My point here, of course, is that there is no need to use other guilds to guild hop your way to Temerity like there would be on PC side. If you want to raid a lot and see EPs/Time quickly then please don't waste Destiny and DCs time (or any other guilds) by using us as a platform for joining Temerity. We're not hard core raiding guilds and every key and bit of loot we get counts towards our progression. Nothing is more annoying than having someone join us for a short time, get VT keyed/geared and then have them leave for Temerity.

To all new players; please ask yourself what you want from a guild before making this important decision as it affects more than just you.

Pretty fair, pretty accurate.

Note though that we get a lot of players who's expectations change after coming to Al'Kabor, in addition to those where RL alters their playing schedules. Sometimes people get too caught up in perceived slights with respect to guilds. Conversely, whatever gear you get in some other guild will have just about zero impact if you ever moved to Temerity, depending on class even most VT gear doesn't stand up to elemental.

The server is small enough and accommodating enough that guild decisions should be more about what you want to do, how you want to do it, and who you want to do it with.

Sinnder, you forgot to mention that we set every new member up with 100k plat-valued items, PoJ trial flags, and light-hearted, if not pejorative, nicknames (See: Gaeaddar a.k.a. Gaydar as known in /gu)

:)

Tewaz: I do believe you should check out our guild websites of this server, and make particular note of raid times, and if they will be accomodating to you in the *long run*. I believe that is what Muess was primarily concerned with, and not with "perceived slights" . His own guildies slight him enough as it is, on those rare occasions when he decides to join us on raids.
