Anyone use that for EQ? If so, how is it?

I'm assuming it will run on a power mac g5 because it says requires 10.4 or later. Another KB I looked at said required intel processor, this didn't.

I'm sure it will work although limited. If you are hoping to use it to run a macro that switches between windows and execute key strokes in each window and come back to the original window, it won't do that because of how the EQMac client works. However if you are looking for it to push a key over and over for skill ups when afk or something and not switch windows when doing that, then that will work, but there are other ways to do that.

You could also do a 1 key push to switch between windows and I guess that would have some advantage for multiboxers. There are probably other things it could do if you don't lose focus on a window. i.e. you could probably have a bard on a separate computer and have it play different songs with only one key stroke.

So bottom line is the keyboard would work, just not fully functional for a multiboxer so I don't believe I would pay a couple hundred for the limited use. Maybe you have something specific in mind that isn't related to any thing I thought of and it would do that.

Hey thanks for the input!

Yeah basically I wanted to set it up for something like switching characters with one key. Currently (well, not currently cause servers are down) I use spaces to multibox and I'm hitting middle mouse button, arrow over, middle mouse button again. Would rather just hit one button to switch windows.

Also, the afk keypress for skill ups would be useful.

I wonder what good the screen is on the kb. I saw another one at a retailer and it had like character stats on it, although it was for some other game. Could you say, make a chat window in EQ that would go to that screen, or no?

Why not just set spaces for Ctrl+1 for screen 1, Ctrl+2 for screen 2, Ctrl+3 for screen 3, etc. That's what I use, and I can't imagine anything being easier.

Likely against the EULA.

That requires a plugin for the particular game, and I'm not sure they have the software for Mac. I am, however, 100% sure there is no plugin for EQMac.

I use this keyboard on my PC. The keyboard itself is great, though I almost NEVER use the screen. I'm actually thinking about replacing it...the footprint is just a bit too big.

This is better suited to EQMac than a gaming keyboard imo.

Ahh thanks for the info guys.

Judah: thx for the heads up. The AFK thing against the EULA coupled with the screen being useless for what I want makes it a pass decision. As for the switching spaces I kind of wanted to just hit one button.

Wiz: Hey my wife was looking at that exact mouse the other day. She saw me about to drop some money on the kb and picked that up and said, "just use this".
