hi
i used to play eq years ago on pc, now ive decided its time to get it on mac
so i subscribed and got myself an iksar beastlord, but whenever i log in, all the floor, walls and all stationary objects in the world are coloured solid black, so i have no idea where im going, or where i am, another thing i notcied was that my compass was constantly spinning.
anyone else had this problem or know how to get it resolved?
thanks

Your compass is spinning because you need to train the skill up. Welcome to old school EQ. There are tips on the forum about how to train skills. Just use the search above.

As for the black walls? No clue. Some underpowered graphics cards give what's called the "Halas Effect" (white textures) but haven't heard about black. Is everything black or just the walls were you spawned?

The best thing you can do to help us assist is to list your computer specs (type, OS version, RAM, Graphics card).

you can turn everything up and on, except mip mapping, turn that off and you can crank up the rest.

Sorry to hijack a thread, but on the subject of Mip Mapping, is the setting in the eqclient.ini supposed to be true/false or 1/0? The PC forums hold differing views on this depending on date.
