Personally, I'm surprised so many are on G4's, but then I never tried on one.

I thought it'd lean more to the PowerPC than the Intel side.

I'm sure it's a long way down the road (Years? Never?) But I'm undecided if I would buy a Intel Mac to play if the server was complied (or whatever, I don't know the jargon) to work for Intel but not PPC.

If you turn everything off, EQ needs very little CPU... I once raided NToV with a G3/400 iMac when my G4 was being serviced. All the textures were white, so it was odd, but shading worked, and framerate was fine.

I played the beta and the first 3 months or so of the live game on a G4 PB Ti 400 with 384 MB RAM and an 8MB video card. Nickname was "The Blind Ranger"!
