Hello everyone!
We'll be running the Grimling War again on July 10th. The last raid was pure chaos. We wiped the first time and looted twice the second. Lyrad looted something awesome and two alts got some nice FT
(Lyrad's reporting that Lucy is wrong, the ATK on the buff is +40 not +30 which is even better and the buff has yet to fade...)
The Raid Strategy:
We must protect 4 cats.
A tank will be assigned to each cat. Their job will be to stand by the cat and only aggro the grimlings that spawn right by the cat. If you're one of those tanks, light aggro please as kiters will need to peel grimlings from you. If you end up with too many on you at any time, run like snot to the enchanter near your team and wait till their stun locked, then run back to your cat.
Ideally we'll be splitting the raid into three teams focused about an AoE group in each time. (We can make due with just two AoE teams like last time. However, if we only have enough enchanters to have one AoE group then the raid will be called and scheduled for another time.)
Each team will consist of at least 1 AoE group (2 enchanters, 1 healer, 2 to 3 AoE nukers) and 1 to 2 groups of kiters.
If you're a kiter, your job will be to run about and snag as a few grimlings as quickly as possible, train them to the enchanter. As soon as the grimlings looked stunned/not moving about run back as fast as you can and grab more grimlings and bring them back. The nukers will burn them down from there.
Nukers, pace your self and try to use your best AoE nuke for the job. Some have better mana to damage ratios, but smaller radiuses. Use your better judgement.
Healers, your job will be to keep the enchanter up first, then tank, then nukers.
About the script: The raid is split into two halves.
The first half is slow. We'll pre-set up the two or three teams in Camps 1&2 (they're side by side) and Camp 3 and Camp 4 (if not enough forces, Camp 3 and 4 will have their AoE group set up halfway between the two camps).
Each tank will escort their cat from the Vah Shir outpost to their camp to ensure that a wandering mob doesn't kill it/damage it.
When all 4 cats are in place, the tank will tag the cat the moment it charges and peal it away. The kiters will then head in and clear the camp of grimlings. Once the grimlings have been cleared, the cat is to be atoned/memblurred and allowed to move to the camp.
We then wait for the script to move on and kill any grimling repops as they occur.
The second half is NUTS! This is when the cats respawn.
At that moment, their tank (babysitter must stick with that cat and stay with it until the raid ends. DO NOT leave your cat.
Kiters grab grimlings as soon as they start spawning and train them to your AoE team. The enchanters will stun lock them and the nukers will burn them down. Peeps in those teams pace yourselves as it only get crazier as time goes on.
From here on in it's just chaos. Whatever your assignment is don't stop doing it...
Kiters please don't stop kiting, please don't stop to kill. There is NO way you can keep up with the spawn rate (well no way without about 90+ peeps) using non-AoE damage. Just focus on tagging grimlings as fast as you can and making sure they stay off the cats. Train them to the enchanters as fast as you can.
(Ideally we have 2 enchanters in each team incase on goes LD)
Notes: All peeps should have a /tar a grim hotkey set up and /tar a grimling high commander set up and spam it throughout the 2nd half of the raid.
We CAN NOT let the cats die. If we do, the raid ends.
Hit your /tar a grimling high commander key from time to time during the 2nd half. The moment you see him up, announce it. At the moment we think he just spawns at camp 1 in a specific spot, but it could just be random chance so far.
When he does pop ALL peeps barring the 4 babysitting tanks and the 2 to 3 enchanter teams converge on the camp where the grimling high commander is and UNLOAD... hit /disc etc. Don't worry about any other mobs. Just unload on him. His hitpoints are very low, and I tanked him for about 60% his health. A real tank shouldn't have too much of a problem with him.
When he dies, the peep that we're doing the key for is to loot his arm asap and turn it into Veteran Cullin. This stops the war and we then sort loot.
However, if we super rock that raid, we might have that peep wait and keep popping the high commander so other peeps that have their boxes gtg loot their arms. We'll decide that on the fly though. If we do decide to keep popping him, each tank must call their cat's health. When it reaches 30% or less, the player assigned to turn in the arm will do so. Post that, we then sort loot, although it might be done during all the fighting if a high commanders timer reaches below 10 minutes.
Any questions or comments?
