My take (although not 100% sure) is videocard=1 is for external or 2nd video display.

Ahh ok. I left it alone and I was able to figure out how to dual box this morning so I'm guessing it's ok. All seemed to go well except the PoK is laggy as all heck, but I was expecting that. I'm sure if I actually turned settings down it'd run better, but I just wanted to figure out if I could even do it. I know what "Spaces" is now, my PC-ness is starting to break down!

I'm having a little trouble. I have my laptop and an external monitor. Monitor is set to primary display. Even with Windowedmode set to true, the game stretches as if it's fullscreen on my main monitor, and my laptop monitor is black. I have vidcard = 1 as well. It's mysterious why it's too stubborn to not be windowed, even if it's at a lower resolution.

I'm in the same boat here. Using a macbook with an external display (main screen). I didnt do too much testing as i just wanted to play, but tried about 3 times to get the windowed mode working (each time changed the eqclient file).

Anyone got any suggestions?

I'll try a few different things tonight. I had the resolution set to less than my external monitor, but maybe it needs to be smaller than my macbook res?

Mine plays perfectly fine. Make sure you put the default settings back on (meaning what ever you changed in your eqclient.)

Follow this video.
Multi-Display Windowed Mode EQ

If I have time today, I'll work on improving the quality.

I think ive found the problem. I followed everyones tips but could not get it working with my macbook connected to my external monitor.

Played around with a few settings last night and got it working, i believe it was the colour profiles being different. Go in to Display preferences and make sure your colour profiles are the same on laptop and monitor.

Is there a way for me to open a second instance on my MacBook?

I've got the .ini client set. And my first instance of EQ opens fine in a window. However when I attempt to open a second instance of EQ I get all the way to the login in screen and nothing happens.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you duplicate the entire EverQuest folder and then use the EverQuestLP.app from the new folder?

ok I'm running into three problems:

1) Although I've changed both .ini files to WindowsMode TRUE, only one instance is opening in a window.

2) I can't get my spaces to acknowledge my second EQLP application. Once I set one for a 'space' the second is greyed out.

3) Even with these problems I've been able to open two instances and cmd+tab between the two, however my mouse quits working on the second instance whenever I do this.

Anyone shed some light on my issue?

Thanks in advance!

Well there are the 40 or so post that say type in "/mc i" and hit return or for that matter anything that starts with "/mc so I guess you tried that already. So no clue what to do when that doesn't work

Oh I hope I can post good news after this server is back up...
