All I can say would be to work up a persona that fits with your race/class selection and stick to it, say things in /say that your char would say, if you need to speak out of char preface with an /ooc or use the ooc channel or a /tell. What ever works best for you. Using the supplied SOE cultural history is a good base, but you can pull in your own ideas just the same.
