In August of 2008 Destiny defeated Emperor Ssraeshza gaining access to Vex Thal and the wonders inside. For the span of the past year we have been toiling every other week against the challenges of the zone.
Those of you who have experienced Vex Thal know that no encounter inside of it is as complex as Emperor’s, but the zone itself demands a raid discipline that we had not experienced since perhaps NTOV. It took us a year to rethink and improve our raiding, and in that time we learned and discussed. On three separate occasions we threw ourselves against the Hall of Ass, a crawl of over 60 mobs with enough Hit Points and DPS output to make us think we’re fighting a raid mob every time the MA calls for assist. We wiped each time with our goal of beating the zone inches from our grasp. “Never Give Up!” Elcid would scream, and in late 2009 we finally triumphed over that crawl and established the final link that would give us access to the upper floors.
Today there was no doubt our year had been well worth it. With discipline and determination we threw ourselves against Kaas Thox Xi Ans Dyek, Diablo Xin Xin Thall, Thall Va Kelun, and Diablo Xi Temariel. Then we reached unexplored territory. Waiting for us on the port up to Vex Xi Aten Ha Ra were four Eoms, the toughest sons of bitches in the zone. We prepped and with only one death we triumphed. Vex Xi Aten Ha Ra was next to fall, and Finally, the goal reached, we stumbled into Aten Ha Ra’s chamber and showed her what Destiny is all about.
We still have challenges ahead inside Vex Thal, but I know this team of players will triumph over all of them. Destiny beats Luclin, PoP better get ready.
