EQMac.com

One of the reasons why I spent all of today upgrading the forums was to plug several security issues with the old, unsupported PhpBB v2.0.x code.

In order to further enhance security, I ask that you, the eqmac.com users, take the following precautions:

1.) Do not use the same password for eqmac.com and other (guild) forums, and especially not the same password as your EQ game account!
To change your eqmac.com password:
Go to: User Control Panel -> Profile -> Edit Account Settings
Enter your new and old passwords, as instructed.

2.) If at all possible, use a different account name on eqmac.com from your EQ game account. Unfortunately, many people use their character names for their account names, and using a character name here is preferable.
To change your eqmac.com username
Go to your message box, and send a PM to me (Nikolai) with your desired new name. I will change your username as soon as I get the PM, so be prepared to use that new name on your next visit to eqmac.com.

With the new board comes more security features. I am hoping that they will be invisible to all our regular, and legitimate posters.

However, I want to know if anyone is experiencing unusual slow-downs, or occasionally is refused login or posting privileges. If you have such problems send me a PM here (If you can) or an e-mail to nikolai at this domain name. I will need to know your general location (ie: state or country), and a little about how you are connecting to the site (dial-up, public library connection, etc.)
