Tell them about their EQ mac Forums problem and not being able to log in, and tell them about your patch issues since you can post at their forums. Then point them here !

Someone should get the hint we want back in game then !

I sent an email and received a response asking for various log files which I have forwarded.

They may actually be on top of this problem since I have also received a real note from someone who thanked me for the files and assured me they would get back to me once they reviewed the logs.

I suggest people send a note to them explaining their problem. It may require a large data set to diagnose the problem and the more logs, etc they have the better.

I also suggest being polite in any note you send. I know this sucks but they are probably inclined to ignore you if you are a raging madman in your note. I have done development work before and I can tell you I usually ignore those who are rude.

I have a hunch this only affects Macs so we have already limited the search somewhat.

My note mentioned the problem with the message boards. They didn't acknowledge that portion of my note at all.

Everyone keeps saying that they can't post on the Sony forums. While I can't start a topic, I can certainly post messages. I've been using Mozilla 1.4 (the latest released version) to do this with no problem.

If you are using Safari (not quite ready for primetime in my opinion and never likely to have the privacy features of Mozilla) try downloading Mozilla. While Sony should fix this problem for Safari, if it is browser-specific, it isn't posting in general that seems broken.

Danlo,

I am logged into my Station account ... my EQ Mac station account not my EQPC account.

When I try and post in a existing thread or start a new topic it tells me I must first join " The Mac Fan Club " and to click here to join

Clicking there takes me to http://eqmac.station.sony.com/registration and then it says

You don't have permission to access /registration on this server.
Apache/1.3.27 Server at eqmac.station.sony.com Port 80

This is when I use Safari OR IE 5.0

If you can only post there using Mozilla then they should state that !

I don't want to download Mozilla and I shouldn't have to. I can do everything else I need to with Safari and IE ..... this shouldn't be any different !

BTW did I mention I was signed in on my Station account?? Oh thats right I did.

Just tested that link with a PC running IE 5.5 and got the same error you did. I can post over there but wanted to let you know your issue is not a browser one, but a server one. The error itself actually hints towards this, but testing is the best proof for some people.

Looks to me like the problem isn't related to the browser in all likelihood. Oh well, there goes one suggestion down the drain. (I still won't retract my mini-rant about Safari, though. Hopefully Apple will add some more security features, such as being able to selectively allow/disallow cookies rather than their more all-or-nothing approach they currently use.)
