Due to the increased number of spambots auto-posting here, I have de-activated the automated account activation feature of the software. It was getting pretty bad. We were getting a more than 10-1 ratio of spam-bot registrations to legitimate registrations.

If you have just signed up for a new account, you will have to wait until it is approved by a moderator, before you can post here. It shouldn't be more than a day or two.

Already active accounts should see no changes.

If you want to make it really easy to figure out that your account is legit, put something in one of the user fields that identifies you as a real Mac Everquest user. A character name, race, class in the signature field maybe "Everquest" or "Macs" in one of the user interest fields will help me to see that yours is a real account.

Thanks to Hotmail's recent upswing in permitting spammers to open unlimited free e-mail accounts, new eqmac account requests which specify only a hotmail.com e-mail, and nothing else will not be approved for posting here, and will be summarily deleted.

If you are a legitimate user, and wish to use a hotmail account for your eqmac contact info, be sure to fill in one of the other account application fields as specified in the previous post.

As always, links to porn, online gambling or medicine sites will guarantee a quick deletion of your new account.

Ok, as lame as it seems, I added another question to the account creation page. Hopefully, this simple addition will make it more difficult for spam-bots to register.
