Well I am trying to get two boxing down and got to thinking. If I use a second computer with voice commands it would be awesome. But is something like that allowed?

For example, I say "1" and it sends a key press of "1" which activates my first hotkey.

Is it legit? or should I just buy a wireless keyboard in order to press "1" on it?

IMO, it would be legitimate. Good luck getting it working.

As long as your nuke command is "FIRE ZE MISSLES!", I don't think it's wrong.

Nice! But I think you also couldn't go wrong with Grand Moff Tarkin's "You may fire when ready." Just be sure to include the very slight pause after "fire" and you're golden!

And by the way -- I'm pretty sure this would require a violation of the EULA: Using an external program to drive the application. I don't know how you would do this in a fashion that SOE would find significantly different than Zamiel's "Hi Frien" KEI bot program. But I could be horribly wrong.

voice control and applescript are part of OS X. Technically, it would be going no farther than helping a disabled person to use a keyboard, as long as no macroing functionality were introduced that went beyond "press hotbox key 1", "press F5" and "cast spell 1"

Like recording a cassette tape with you saying "cast one, cast one, cast one, cast one...".?

You have to give the commands for each song in a bard twist a lyric from "Moves like Jagger".

I've (1 1) got the (2 2) moves like (3 3) Jagger (4 4)

Gives a whole new meaning to the ability 'melody'.

The key difference to me is that the "Hi Frien" bot was reactive to the game world - it took action based on tells, and could take many different reactive actions based on different /log outputs. What's being proposed with the voice thing is just 1-way control, a human has to interpret the results and decide on the next command to send.

Pretty sure if you are running one PC and have a headset on and can tell your second PC to press button 1 through 0 its not against the EULA provided you set up the hotkey boxes in the game to do what you want...

would prove interesting to see it in action.

Well it "works" but the process is resource heavy.

Due to not wanting to use a keyboard the speech recognition has to always be running, which seems to be a burden on the system while playing. But as I am new to Macs I am looking for some tweaks that might help. IE keeping EQ and the Voice process on different cores, perhaps different RAM addresses also (if possible in OSX).
