...that I don't have.

I have very little new information and I'm sure I'll have more by next week. But, here is what I can tell you.

- The game will be F2P. What does this mean you say? It means you don't have to pay to play. Right now there are no plans to have a marketplace. That could possibly change at some point. But don't worry about that now.
- We are working on allowing new accounts to be created. This change came in hot last night and our billing team will need to play catch up.

****ATTENTION PowerPC users and users of the OLD LaunchPAD.****
- As of right now, the old LaunchPad will die at around around the original shutdown date of Alkabor. (3/29)
- Alkabor will be moving to the new LP4 launcher that you currently see for EQ and EQ2.
- What this means is that if you are using a PowerPC, you will lose access to the game. (*NOTE* I'll try and support PowerPC, but the effort to do this is not simple.)
- If you are still using OSX 10.4 the GameLauncher will not run. You must upgrade to 10.5 or higher.

I'll try and get more details later.

Hobart,

Thank you for as always going above and beyond to support this server. I went out of my way a while back to find a nice condition G5 dual core tower that was in pristine condition. I did this because I wanted to enjoy the best experience possible in this last 'legacy' EQ server. If you can keep the PowerPC client running in the future, i'm sure many will appreciate that fact. However, I am fine with finding a used Intel based Mac before the old shut down date in order to continue playing. As I have always said in my posts regarding the possible sunsetting of Al'Kabor, the Mac that I use is just a tool to enjoy the world that you have created, and now saved. While I may be a low hour player on the server, I will be eternally grateful of your time and energy that has benefited and saved this server.

Cheers,
Folkar

Thanks again for all the work and effort you've put into our community. I honestly don't think we could thank you enough. Between your tireless work on our clients and codebase to fighting for our server and keeping the entire community in the loop, we're pretty god damn lucky to have you.

There are many people in Vintage that play on PPCs. If there is anything that can be done to help/support PPC and your efforts Hobart please let us know.

If it was possible i think it would solve all of our PPC users atleast Vintage as we have PC alternatives to use instead of G4s. Would it take less time to make a portal from the PC world rather then remake the PPC client? If so i vote for that.

Login to station and check. All my accounts show exempt status for billing and "active".

Thank you Hobart! You rock and we're lucky to have you on our side.

I have an old eMac that will finally be worthless now... Luckily, I also have a MBP and a freshly built hackintosh.

See you in Norrath!

They've already stopped charging you as of the original announcement and refunded any additional time paid.

You've done a bloody awesome effort Hobart and whilst the LP changes don't affect me, many thanks for keeping us in the loop with AK connectivity.

I'd buy you a beer if you lived close by :)

Anyone actually seen a refund yet? I was charged as they "canceled" us, but no refund as of yet.

Well boo. I found out through the grapevine that it is going f2p, so I was going to login again but I don't have an Intel Mac.
Guess I will wait and see if there will be support still before I put in the time with a new character.
