Here is a workaround that should allow you to run multiple clients.

1. Open your browser of choice and goto the page to download the client. If you have it set to remember you, goto account and LOGOUT.
2. Close your browser completely.
3. Go back to the download page and verify that it did not automatically log you in.
4. Enter user name and password. DO NOT select remember me(this is one thing that is breaking it). Hit Play.
5. Close browser completely.
6. Open browser and go back to download page. Login with different account. You should be able to PLAY.
7. Repeat as needed.

The key to this is, A) Don't use Remember Me. B) Restart browser after each login.

This works fantastically for two toons but I'm having trouble loading three. It seems the first uses live build but second uses test. I followed your instructions about closing browser but third time I open it gets stuck in "playing" with the button darkened. This holds true no matter if I switch between live and test build. Any thoughts?

Thanks so much for your awesome work.

Edit - I solved this, see my post later in the thread.

I logged two of the chars out, and now I am getting the grey playing screen for them when I try to log them in. There is definitely something wrong here.

OK... so I see a pattern. I cannot log in accounts that I have previously logged in, but I can keep logging in new accounts. I'm not sure if this helps.

I have one account on live and one on test, too. The only downside is, that i cannot use two different eqclient.ini's to use my second sceen for one of the accounts.

Other than that: I love the new client! Where can we send the beer to? ;-)

Cool thanks for the tips guys.

As far as multiple monitors go, can't you press f8 and manually drag one instance into the new monitor space?

Is that where deleting the cookies comes into play?

The greyed out "Playing..." button is not necessarily tied to your cookies, as I explained in my first post in this thread.

Today I deleted the entire client and everything in the App Support directory and tried again. At certain times I can't get a 2nd Test open. At other times, I can get a 2nd Test open but I can't get a 3rd Test open. It's just insanely buggy. =p

My experience loading 3 accounts is 100% the same as Break's and Zamiel's.

I was able to log in 3 accounts on 3 test accounts when I first attempted this.

I then logged them out, and when I tried logging back in, I could only do 1 Live account and 1 Test account. Any more attempts leaves me stuck at the greyed Playing...

It seems to be hit or miss with me. Yesterday I had some trouble initially trying to load up multiple boxes. However I was eventually able to load up 3 tests and 1 live =). Just been using the same tricks that Zamiel listed before. Just keep trying that stuff and you'll eventually get it to work. I'm still trying to figure out a clear cut way to get it right everytime (if such a thing even exists).

Oh, one other thing I wanted to mention. When I "camp to desktop" it takes an unually long time for the screen to disappear (maybe 5 mins?)

After quite a bit of testing, I've figured out a consistent way to log in my three dudes. It is really not that much different than the above methods but this produces better results.

1) Never run the Live client. Only run test. If you log in and it defaults to "live," switch to test, log off and restart your computer.
2) Open Safari, clear cookies, visit launch site, log account in.
3) Once you've made sure the build is test and the blue button for "play" appears, open the command bar and go to "force quit."
4) When the force quit menu appears, go ahead and select Safari to shut down, a prompt will appear saying "are you sure you want to do this?"
5) Click back into Safari and hit play and then click back to force quit menu and select "yes" to shut down safari. THIS MUST BE DONE AS FAST AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE. I've found I get much more consistent results doing this rather than relying on command-q or xing out.
6) Once your toon makes it to the character select screen, switch to second space and go back to 1)

Note: If you ever get the "playing" button darkened on any of your attempts, you must log out all your accounts out and restart computer and begin again.
